The Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi, is inviting applications for the post of Nursing Officer under Level 07 of the Pay Matrix (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400), Group-B. The selection process will be conducted through the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET-8) by AIIMS New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria for NORCET-8

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing from a recognized university/institute, OR
  2. Regular B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university/institute, OR
  3. Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university/institute.

Additionally, candidates must be registered as a Nurse or Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council.

OR

  1. Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized board/council.
  2. Registered as a Nurse or Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council.
  3. One year of work experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds after completing the required educational qualification.

Age Limit

  1. Candidates must be below 30 years.
  2. Age relaxation of up to 5 years is available for government servants as per Central Government norms.
  3. Age will be calculated based on the closing date of the application.

Application Fee

  • General/OBC Candidates: ₹3,000/-
  • SC/ST/EWS Candidates: ₹2,400/-
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Exempted

Candidates can pay the fee via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. Any applicable transaction or processing charges must be borne by the applicant.

Note:

  • The application fee is non-refundable.
  • However, SC/ST candidates who appear for the exam will get a refund after result declaration, upon verification of their caste certificate.

Exam Schedule

  • NORCET-8 Preliminary (CBT – Stage I): April 12, 2025 (Saturday)
  • NORCET-8 Mains (CBT – Stage II): May 2, 2025 (Friday)
